Music Performance and Education Outreach Program

Music Performance and Education Outreach ProgramFor 18 years, the UCLA Music Outreach Program has been the beneficiary of generous support from the Maxwell H. Gluck Foundation. This funding has allowed the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music to take our finest UCLA music students to senior centers, schools, libraries and other institutions throughout Los Angeles County, bringing high quality performances and music education free of charge to individuals and groups who might otherwise not have the opportunity to hear live music.

Throughout the year, we offer a variety of performances featuring soloists, duos and trios; vocal, string, brass, woodwind and jazz ensembles; along with world music performance groups that broaden the spectrum of music and outreach to our diverse Southern California audiences. The Gluck Fellows Music Outreach and Performance Programs work to forge and strengthen partnerships within our community using live musical performances to educate children, engage the public and provide motivation and inspiration to the elderly and sick, while enhancing the cultural experiences of the Los Angeles public.  These initiatives also represent a unique opportunity to serve the community while providing UCLA music students with the financial and pedagogical support needed to further their musical and professional development.
